Will spray tans cover body acne?

it HAS to be gone, or at least covered, in exactly a week. I've tried sooo many products, including proactiv, none of them work for me! I have a fashion show and im going to have to wear a two piece swimming suit, and some sleevless dresses. I've tried to cover it with makeup, but it didn't really work, it still showed and it looked really cakey. Will a airbrush tan temporarily cover it?Will spray tans cover body acne?
I don't think that's a good idea. Those products are probably comedogenic which means it causes acne!

Use this to find the ingredients that can be harmful.

Try apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons a day and eating healthy foods instead of using chemical products. Will spray tans cover body acne?

Sunscreen vs. dry oil spray tanning sunscreen -- what's better?

I don't quite understand what these ';dry oil spray tanning sunscreens'; are. Do they make you get tan?

How can they have SPF and protect you from the sun if they simultaneously help you get a tan?

I thought getting a tan means that you AREN'T protected from the sun?

I'm confused! Can anyone explain the difference between regular sunscreens and these tanning-oil-spray-sunscreens?

Thanks! :)Sunscreen vs. dry oil spray tanning sunscreen -- what's better?
Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:

* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?

* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.

* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.

* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.

* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived

* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.

* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin.

Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.

Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.

IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and you can substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or a natural coconut oil to moisturize in the meantime until you find a better, natural alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!Sunscreen vs. dry oil spray tanning sunscreen -- what's better?
wow. i dont think that i could compete with penny!

Spray tanning question for those that do?

i currently self tan with beyond bronze fake bake tanning lotion but putting it on nearly every 2 days is starting to tire me out so im thinking of going to get a professional spray tan.

A few questions for those that do this...

1) how long does it take?

2) how much round abouts would it cost?

3) how often a week would you go and have a spray tan done?

Thanks to those that reply :D

xSpray tanning question for those that do?
Hiya, I don't blame you for getting sick of doing it yourself!

1) It takes about 10 minutes to get sprayed, but you have to wait about another 10 minutes to let it dry. Wear very loose clothing so it doesn't streak because it takes hours to dry completely. Shave the day before you have it done. Wash as little as possible when you've had it done. When you do shower or bathe, use moisturiser after as this helps the colour to develop more. In the first 2 days, the colour will keep getting darker, then after it will start to fade.

2) It usually costs between 拢15-拢20.

3) I would say it lasts a week at the most, depending on how much you wash, moisturise, etc. So maybe you get it done every Saturday for example.

Phone round a few salons in your local area and ask how much it costs so that you get the best price. Wear suitable underwear. Good luck! :)Spray tanning question for those that do?
I have them regularly,

A few minutes to do and a few mmins to dry

Mine are from 拢10 - 拢20

I usually have it done once every 1 - 2 weeks
i recently got a spray tan done a couple weeks ago for a school prom. it only took like 10 minutes. the first layer was applied then a second layer was applied to get a full effect. i went to a spa and got it done and it cost 35 dollars. my spray tan lasted a good week to week and a half. if you exfoiliate your whole body right before getting a tan then this helps it stay on longer and if you apply lotion to your body when you have the tan this will make it stay on longer. after about a week i would say it started to fade. here is a good tip so you dont make the same mistake i did. do NOT put anythiing on your face or body before going or even the night beofre..the only thing you should be doing is exfoiliatign your skin but dont put any lotions or creams on before because this will mess up the tan. i put a cream on my face the night before and it messed up the tan so dont do that. also there are usually different levels of tan you can get..i got a number 2 which gave me a really good tan..i looked like a just came back from a vacation on a island. for the first time maybe only go one shade darker like a number 1 then you can build it up because if you go too dark then you will look fake and orange. some spray tanning places dont even have different levels but if the place you go to does then maybe get a 1 or 2 the first time and see how it is. good luck!

  • What do you wear while spray tanning?

When you get a spray tan, what are you supposed to wear?...What do you wear while spray tanning?
i was thinking about getting a spray tan. i thought you did it naked. i would. What do you wear while spray tanning?
You don't have to wear a bra or bikini top, but you will have to wear something to cover your pubic area--underwear or bathing suit bottom. Some salons will provide you with a disposable bottom.
some places you do it naked in a room for spray tanning, but other places require that you wear a bikini, thong bottoms are the best to give you more of a tan. :)
haha! CASSIDY! I'm wearing this really old swimming suit from like 5th grade:) the bottoms are shorts so I'm like rolling them under. I can't wait this is gonna be fun!

oh yea my mom got stickers too. lol
I've had a few and all mine I was required to have a bathing suit on and she worked around and under it.
    dont get a spray tan.

it never works %26amp; it always looks orange

What is the best, most natural looking, spray on/lotion tanner for men?

Do a mystic tan at your local salon; get professional results for close to the same price as a bottle of tanning lotion that could leave you streaky and orange.

Is spray tanning a good idea?

Does it smell? Will it rub off unevenly? Is spray tanning a good idea?
It's better then tanning beds. But it does smell, is sticky and washes off in the shower or if you sweat. Is spray tanning a good idea?
It depends. If it professional then it won't rub off.If it is out a spray can then it might smell bad,but it won't rub off for about 3 days.
It is better for you than a tanning bed, but it can leave you streaky which defeats the whole purpose of that sun-kissed glow. I have tried some of those gradual tanning lotions and yes they do take some time, but can look better than a spray tan. :) hope this helps
    Spray tanning doesn't rub off!

OK, I lied a bit, it will rub off during the first few hours if you don't wear loose baggy clothing. However, after that, it is your skin that is tanned, it is not a surface cosmetic. It will off course fade over a few days just as a sun tan does. However you are not nuking yourself in the sun or on a bed!
i would not really recomend it because sometimes it look ok but sometimes it makes you look orange and alot of times it makes above your upper lip and you hand look funny
it is a better alternative than tanning beds, but they don't last long at all. you hafta get re-touched up every so often. so it might cost more.

Call HSN, they sell these things called tantowels and they have the tantowel on the glow face tanner. I know, I work for them and I use this product. So far, no streaks and no orange color to me. Or, try a powder bronzer but this will leave you with tiny sparkles on your face, which isn't always a bad thing.

Does spray tanning work and look good? TIPS??

Hey ok soo i really wanna look cute and tan for summer (what girl doesn't??) and I don't wanna tan in a tanning bed because of the bad UV rays and cancer and all. SO my question is does spray tanning work, last, and look good? Also, if you have any tips feel free to post them! THANKS SOO MUCH! =]Does spray tanning work and look good? TIPS??
stay away from the tanning bed!

I am a huge fan of the mystic tan. It gives you a nice, dark, natural-looking tan. It doesn't last as long as I'd like (about 3-4 days) %26amp; it is a little expensive ($20-$30 per session depending on where you go %26amp; if they're running any specials) but it looks really good.Does spray tanning work and look good? TIPS??
if you get in professionally done at a tanning salon it looks good, but it only lasts for 2 or so weeks...but if youre gonna do it at home i rcommend these wipes they have from neutragena, they work really well and leave an even tone. but again they dont last, only a week or so, but you can continually apply them.
yes but it washes off and then ur skin gets ugly , my friend tried , his skin was all loose an uneven looking after he tanned ,,, he didnt do it proffesionlly though
I have found when using spray on tanning or even self tanners that if you exfoliate your skin before it helps with the blotchy patches. It will help remove all of the dead skin before the tanner goes on which in the end result your tan stays on longer and looks much better. Especially if you exfoliate the dry areas (like elbows, knees and ankles) your tan will look more natural.
I got a mystic spray tan, it looked pretty good and even until it started fading, and then it got super splotchy. It also did not smell good and it only lasted like 3-4 days, and I can't afford 25$ twice a week just to get tan. I just use dove energy glow now, and it looks just as good.

Whats the different between sunbeds and spray tans?

Spray tans are sprayed onto the skin using dyes and chemicals to stain the skin. While tanbeds use artificial sunlight to cook the skin, and probably cause skin cancer eventually.Whats the different between sunbeds and spray tans?
spray cans are alot safer and doesnt cause you to get skin cancer, your skin doesnt look older than it should, and you can wash it off when you need to , plus you wont turn into a lobster!Whats the different between sunbeds and spray tans?
A lot of incorrect and misleading info in the answers here.

Saying that spray tans are 'chemicals' sounds alarming. The main ingredient is deionised water and DiHydroxyAcetone - sounds nasty but is actually just an extract of sugar kane.

Also, you are not getting a 'painted' skin, the DHA is absorbed by the dead skin cells on the outer layer and reacting with them to make them go brown - just like bitten apples do (it is NOT absorbed any deeper).

Sunbeds do actually work in the same way as sun bathing using UV light - and they both damage and age your skin and greatly increase your risks of getting skin cancer. Avoid them!

Either have a spray tan, or stay white.
You can get skin cancer from going on sunbeds.

Spray tans are basically artificial tans. They are harmless, and alot better for your skin.

    Thats the difference.
Using a tanning bed leaves you open to getting skin cancer. A spray tan is done by chemicals. Even with getting a spray tan, you still must use sunscreen after.
both fake but sun bed looks better and in the long run cheaper too

    regards x kitti x
Sunbeds use UV rays to make your skin tan just like sitting out in the sun but spray tans use chemicals to artificially colour your skin. Spray tans are less harmful as you are not exposed to UV rays that can cause skin cancer. I perfer pale and interesting.
sunbeds cook your skin whereas spray on tans just 'paint' it.
if you saw final destination 3 i wouldnt use a sun bed!
    lol

to me they are both tools to help white people look brown!

sunbeds give u cancer and spray tans are easier to use anyway! and its safer!!!!

Spray tanning can look orange, can streak, can wear off on clothes and towels and can look unnatural. However, it is also much better for you than actual tanning because it doesn't damage your skin-it only dyes your skin, and can give you a bronzed look almost immediately and you can build a tan gradually by applying a small amount each day. I use L'oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, which is available almost anywhere, and is a dark gel with gold shimmers mixed in. I usually mix a small amount in with my moisturizer to prevent streaking and orange tints. I love it and it works really well-I'm quite dark and I use the Medium Natural Tan color (the Dark Natural Tan is waaaay too dark). It's around $8 and works better than anything I've tried, plus the gold shimmers make your skin look great.
    Well...

    1) They work in streaks which look terrible.

    2) Get it on any clothes/surfaces etc your in trouble.

    3) Possibly fumes....
They can look orange and streaky if not applied properly

but if they are applied right look stunning red the instructions

There's some you can buy out of argos that are great!! But you have to paint your finger nails and toe nails first though.

But if you want a one-day tan, rimmel have a spray which you rub in, but because its an instant tan, you wont go streaky and you can wash it off, so you wont have the well known satsuma hands :)
hiya, i get mine out of the hairdresser supplie Sallys. Its by SunLabs and you can get it in a spray can or a mouse. I use the mouse and a mitt for a no streak tan.Its superb, not orange like some, it actually comes out brown so you look like youve been abroad for 2 weeks! Apply the night before and you may look streaky but i promise you that when you shower the next day and it rinses away you will be streak free and brown. Its in a white can with orange writing. Costs about £14

Makeup. Otherwise, I'd say you're out of options.

TX MomOkay.. i want a tan and i cant lay in tha tanning bed or use sunless spray.. what can i do to get tan FAST?
So you want a tan without going to a tanning bed or using fake tan cream? Good luck. You've either need to use a fake tan spray/lotion/foam, go to a tanning bed, or tan outside. Your choice!

edit: You could use a bronzer powder on your face... I use bronzer make-up when I go out, but it's really not the same as an actual tan.
If you can't use tanning spray or lay in a tanning bed, then I say honey, it's time to get your swimsuit on and get out in the sunshine. If you can't do that either, then I guess your tan is going to be pretty pale.
At any pharmacy you can find self tanners (lotions and oils), so you can try using that.

I think all Australian gold lotions smell good. Like the classic accelerator, xox, cheeky brown, puppy love, and bearly legal. Also some California Tan lotions smell good too.

Hello, does anyone know the website for SANTRAPAY spray tanning lotion?

Are you sure its not st. tropez?

What are the effects (bad ones, if any....) of SPRAY TANS? like the ones you can buy at drugsgtores? 10 POINTS?

thanks! 10 points for best asnwer! What are the effects (bad ones, if any....) of SPRAY TANS? like the ones you can buy at drugsgtores? 10 POINTS?
they always look really orange and get on everything !

and when it gets on everything its coming off of you so youll end up having orange splotches all over. not attractive. just go lay in the sun !!What are the effects (bad ones, if any....) of SPRAY TANS? like the ones you can buy at drugsgtores? 10 POINTS?

Can you get spray tans to use at home ?

is there a spray version of it ?

if there is which is the best one, and would you recomend it ?

    thanks

st tropez do spray tans in cans. Many tanning salons will sell spray tans in cans also. Can you get spray tans to use at home ?

Costs about £14
there you go i have included link for rio cause i coulnt find it on boots site but they sell it ay boots good luck

  • Okay.. i want a tan and i cant lay in tha tanning bed or use sunless spray.. what can i do to get tan FAST?

HELP!?!?!?!Okay.. i want a tan and i cant lay in tha tanning bed or use sunless spray.. what can i do to get tan FAST?

What is the best spray or lotion to use if im going to the tanning bed, and would like to get really tan?

The very ';BEST'; spray or lotion would be a self-tanning lotion. Going to tanning booths is just like (if not worse) than laying in the sun. Of course you could develop skin cancer; but in ten years, you're skin will look like leather and make you look years older. The best anti-aging lotion is a sunscreen. So, look into a good self-tanner. If you exfoliate first, and shave, use your self-tanner (or get it sprayed professionally) and keep your skin moisturized, you will have a beautiful tan AND great undamaged skin. Thank you for asking a question that can help others. Godloveya and blessed holidays! What is the best spray or lotion to use if im going to the tanning bed, and would like to get really tan?
don't know but I hope you are saving your money for medical expenses because you WILL get deadly melanoma in your future. And that ain't pretty! What is the best spray or lotion to use if im going to the tanning bed, and would like to get really tan?
Your best bet is to go THERE, the tanning SALON and purchase one from them...they will tell you which ones are the darkest and so forth!!!

modelco and mystic tan are both really good, although a little pricey. you can get both of them at Sephora (but i think modelco is only online now). i tried mystic tan at a Sephora store, and was surprised to see it come out as a watery, blurpy brown color on my hand. however, an hour or two later, it was the perfect golden brown. i also recently purchased a L'oreal sublime glow spray at Walgreens and it has seemed to work really well, as long as you don't spray to much on at one session. it was just a little splotchy.

  • Will spray tanning ruin a tattoo?

i have had a tattoo for about two months and i have a friends wedding coming up and she wants us to spray tan. can i do that or will it ruin my tattoo. my tattoo covers my whole side also. Will spray tanning ruin a tattoo?
    not at all.

it will only make your tattoo look a little darker, just like it will for your skin.

my advice is to stay away from Mystic tan and find a salon in your area that offers ';infinity sun'; airbrushing or ';versa spa'; spray tanning system. those 2 are the only ones on the market right now that offer a realistic color that won't turn you orange or anything.

(i've managed a tanning salon for 2 years and have airbrushed over numerous tattoos including my own.)Will spray tanning ruin a tattoo?
I've spray tanned a few times since my tattoos. If they are healed it will not be an issue and after 2 months you should be healed completely. It is much safer for your skin to spray tan, and UV rays, whether the sun or a tanning bed, can fade your tattoo. Also it has never affected the color of my ink, just the parts of my skin without ink and I have some white and pastel blues in both of my sides. Spray away and good luck!
It normally shouldn't affect it permanently, what colours are in your tattoo? I have a friend that has white and light pink in hers and it seemed to stain it for a few weeks; longer than the rest of her body stayed tan. But it eventually went back to normal.

If it's on your side and your dress will cover it, I just wouldn't tan on my side anyways. Although you'd look real silly naked...
As long as the tattoo is completely healed you should have no problem with the spray tan. It is MUCH better for your tattoo than getting a real tan. The sun or tanning beds are your worst enemy when it comes to a tattoo. I see no problem, go for it!
    get a real tan.

Has anyone ever fake baked in a spray tanning booth?

Hey everyone, I'm interested in fake baking since I'm very fair skinned and can't do it the natural way since I'll fry. I'm just afraid I'm going to look either unnatural or weird because I'm horrifically pale. How dramatic are the results? Also, how hard is it to mess up? I know a girl in high school that did it and had streaks down her face! I swear I almost look like an albino and I literally shine in the sun so I really would like to do something. Thanks for the advice!Has anyone ever fake baked in a spray tanning booth?
i have. i was really fair skinned. PALE.

got some rays at the tanning salon, got darker.

i've never been able to go back to as white as i used to be though. once you tan really dark it is very hard (if not impossible) to go back to fair skinned you once had.

all tans fade within a month but your skin is never the same.Has anyone ever fake baked in a spray tanning booth?
well I have had a spray tan so I would know, when you get if you are going to go and wear your swimsuit in the booth you will probably have tan lines and don't wear the goggles if you do it'll leave marks and remember to rub the lotion well into your hands and feet and rub it in after you get out and remmber to turn or you will have one orange side and another white side and it only lasts for 5 days tops so if you are gonna get I'd get it only on occasions
I haven't, but my friend has. It looked really good! I thought it was a natural tan... one guy told her she looked a little orange... but it was only one guy and no one else thought anything weird about it. but if you can't do it the natural way, this is probably one of your only options...

Okay so im finally fit. what is the best way to tan? sun, tanning beds or spray? any pros and cons?

Depends on what your skin is like. If you can sit in the sun and not burn horribly, that's the way to go. Seriously, there is nothing better than a natural suntan. Its color cant be duplicated, and it doesn't fade.

Now, if that wont work, find a tanning salon. Make sure you ask around first and check how clean they are! Cleanliness is a good way to check for quality.

I wouldn't use sprays if I were you. They look fake, fade, and are often blotchy. If you are in a rush though, thats what I would do. It's February so you have time.

My recommendation: hit the tanning salon once or twice, see how your skin reacts. If you like it, do it slowly and when the sun comes out, thats the way to do it.

Good Luck! And Good Work on finally getting fit!Okay so im finally fit. what is the best way to tan? sun, tanning beds or spray? any pros and cons?
Okay, so you're fit. But don't ruin that with tanning, babe! Goodness! Tanning totally kills your skin! It only looks good for a couple of weeks then fades away. The thing is, you don't realize all the damage it's doing for like 5-10 years but after that suddenly, your skin looks leathery and dry, so you put lots of moisturizer on your face and now your skin looks greasy and porey! ICK! Makeup will not go on evenly and you'll feel so shitty that you feel like going for a tan because you think it's going to make your skin look a tad bit better. And so you'll damage your skin even more! It's an ugly, vicious cycle.

So, in conclusion, stay away from tanning beds and overly baking yourself on the beach. If you plan to tan on the beach, remember to use a sunscreen with an appropriate SPF (no spf 5-15! it's too weak!). Use a good self-tanner and bronzer to get that sunkissed look. Go to iVillage.com to check out reviews for self tanners and pick out the one that appeals most to you. I also wouldn't suggest a spray-on tan because it simply makes people look like Oompa-Loompas. Eww....Okay so im finally fit. what is the best way to tan? sun, tanning beds or spray? any pros and cons?
Tanning beds- Cons: You have to go more than once. It takes a long time to get the tan you want and in most places it can be expensive. It always can cause cancer. Pros: When you get the tan you want it's easy to maintain and lasts longer than tanning sprays

Mystic tanning-Pros: It's fast and easy. Cons: Sometimes it looks like it has been done. It doesn't last that long. Sometimes it's uneven.

Natural Sun- Pros: it looks the best and is free! Cons: If you cant tan you cant tan. You will get burned.

Self-tanners- Pros: they are cheap. Cons: everything else. the color isn't that great and it looks blotchy.
the best way to tan is to tan natural there are many risks in tanning beds like if you go to many times you have a higher chance of getting cancer so stick to the natural way
First, if tanning outside ALWAYS wear a high SPF suncreen. Tanning beds as well as tanning without SPF, can cause skin cancer. Spray tanning would be the best, BUT, make sure you do a little research first so you don't come out orange...seriously. Just be careful in the sun and in tanning beds. It is so not good for the skin.

Spray tanning while pregnant? Did you do it? Is it ok?

I am going to ask my doctor on friday, but I was just wondering if any of you have gotten a spray tan while pregnant. What did your doc advise if you asked him/her?

Thanks EveryoneSpray tanning while pregnant? Did you do it? Is it ok?
I had the same question about 3 weeks ago and asked my doctor. She said she has had several patients who spray tan before their baby showers so they look all pretty and it is fine. Make sure you were the nose plugs because you could inhale the stuff but other than that it is A OK!!!! I promise you will feel much better about yourself when you get a little color on those legs and arms!Spray tanning while pregnant? Did you do it? Is it ok?
According to the manufacturers of self tanners they only penetrate they first three layers of the skin and therefore no real harm should be able to come of it. However, minimal research has been conducted into this so no one really knows for sure.

I've continued to self tan all through my pregnancy so far and know many of my friends have done the same. If you're concerned speak to your beautician and doctor and if you're still that concerned don't do it. You'll only drive yourself mad worrying about it.
i wish i could help you!

i was at the doc the other day and forgot to ask =(

im guessing it would be Okay.

but def wait for the doc to find out.
I used it with my third child and she came out fine. If it makes you feel better I am 31 weeks pregnant and still use it

You can if it's a machine one. Sometimes in salons ther therapist holds a gun of tan and sprays you down. You can wear a thong if you like.

Tip: Don't touch till she says you can or you'll have brown fingertips!Spray tans - do you stand there naked in a machine?
im pretty sure you were a bathing suit. you wear a bikini or whatever and they spray you. that would be really awkward if you were nakedSpray tans - do you stand there naked in a machine?
yes. if you want all your body to be the same tone.

    i get a bed instead.
it depends where you go to get a fake tan

but normally you can choose to wear your underwear ... but otherwise they give you paper like underwear to put on
Yes you do. It is really weird but fun. Also, you're alone so there is no need to be nervous.
you can wear your swimsuit or underwear as long as it isit ur best stuff
It is not necessary to stand there nude. If you want to, it is your choice.

What is the BEST TANNING LOTION/SPRAY?

Not for fake tans but for outside tans, By best I specifically mean the most UV protective yet still effect/fast so i can get tan in a few days by laying out? Thanks! What is the BEST TANNING LOTION/SPRAY?
i work for a company that distributes indoor and outdoor tanning products... i would go for something like, australian gold SPF with bronzer, spf stands for sun protection factor and which one you use depends on the skin type you have... but on the whole if you want to spend days out in the sun, use AG SPF 30 with bronzer, you can get it in a spray or lotion, it will give you immediate colour and a delayed one, dont worry about streaking as the initial layer washes off, enjoy your sunning :)What is the BEST TANNING LOTION/SPRAY?

Does bio oil work well on birthmarks, spots and insect bites?? are spray tans streaky? r hair extensions crap?

    thanks.

hair extensions: prom, i have spots on my back and need to hide em

spray tan: yep. super super pale

insect bites: tried lotions and they won't go!

i have a small (about the size of your fingerprint) birthmark on my cheek, it's pale brown but i'm very self concious.

xDoes bio oil work well on birthmarks, spots and insect bites?? are spray tans streaky? r hair extensions crap?
It works on birthmarks...a bit, not on spots or insect bites - you'd need an astringent.

Sometimes spray tans are streaky, depends where you go to get them done

Hair extensions are only good if you spend a fortune on them, go to a top salon.

  • What do you think to spray tanning?

I dont like it, It'll stain your clothes is you sweat within 2 hours of getting it done, it makes you too orange, its very noticeable that it's a spray tan and and if its not done right, you look like a leopardWhat do you think to spray tanning?
i dont like it as it makes you look too orange

Do men really like those girls who have spray on orange tans ?

I find them gross and unnatural looking. I'd rather be pale then orange....Do men really like those girls who have spray on orange tans ?
    If i saw a gorgeous girl and she had a spray on tan, I would not say ';Oh ew she looks so gross with that spray on tan.';

So to answer your question it depends on the person. Now guys with the orange tan, thats gross!Do men really like those girls who have spray on orange tans ?
It really depends on who you are trying to impress. Besides, being pale looks better than being orange.
I personally don't really like it...
not any that i know. but i'm sure there's guys out there that do.
    I dont like them.
    no!!

Do all spray tans make you orange?

Im currently tanning now but i want to be tanner faster, so i was thinking about getting spray tan, now im orgianally very pale but now im a medium shade like beige i guess, would i become very orange from the tan and are they worth getting?Do all spray tans make you orange?
All my friends fake tans come out orrange

they got bagged out so badly

everyone called them carrot legsDo all spray tans make you orange?
Not me. But I think that could depend on if you are fair skinned. I have olive skin so the orange gets masked a bit if it happen. Also, if you have a base tan much more unlikely - make sense? Some salons use cheap solution which gives the orange appearance. I strongly believe in salons that use both Mystic Tanners with the companies sprays. Some salons chince and buy cheaper solution. I would just ask what solution they are using. If they don't know...hmmm. If they do know and it isn't Mystic tan solution maybe ask them why they don't use that. Who knows maybe they found something even better. You could also ask for the brand name and search for reviews online which would most likely be reviewed by tanning salons so you would be getting expert reviews. You might just need to make a couple phone calls to find the right place.
Not necessarily. I got a spray tan a few years back for my senior homecoming and it looked awesome. I'm pretty pale but it turned me a believable shade of brown. Just make sure you choose an appropriate level for your skin. I'm strawberry blonde and really pale and I went with level one in a Mystic Tan and it was great. I suggest giving it a shot!
Spray tans don't last very long, and they can be pretty expensive. My salon charges like $30.00 for one session, and it only lasts 3-5 days or so. You wouldn't become orange, especially if you get it done at a salon. I'd just wait and keep tanning in the bed. Keep your skin super moisturized (use lotion before and after...and all the time lol). From my experience, using lotion seemed to make my tan deeper and last longer.

    How do spray tans work?

I am probably getting a spray tan in 4 days.

%26amp; i was just wondering like what happens when you go inside.

like do they make you go in a machine or booth and how long do you have to wait to shower after you get it done.

and what do the make you do when you get it done?

so many questions but i need answers. How do spray tans work?
You should exfoliate well the day before your tan in order to remove any dead skin cells (this will help prolong your tan). If you shave or wax, this should also be done before the day of your tan. Do not wear deodorants or make up or any other preparation on your skin on tanning day as these can act as a barrier to the tanning solution.# ear loose dark clothing and do not shower for at least 8 hours as this can remove some of the tan before it has had a chance to develop.

The first night, it is best to wear pyjamas or baggy loose clothing in order to prevent disturbing your developing tan and to protect your sheets (do not sleep in silk sheets as these WILL stain)

When you do first shower, you may notice some brown staining in the water. Do not panic! This is just the marker dye washing off, revealing your tanned skin underneath.

Avoid soaking in the bath as this encourages the sloughing of dead skin cells and will hasten the fading of your tan

Avoid swimming pools as chlorine will hasten the tan fading

Moisturise every day (preferably twice) in order to keep your skin and tan in tip top condition

its basically a booth when you get there they will explain what you do in thereHow do spray tans work?
You go into a booth that looks like a shower. Usually, a machine voice tells you where to stand, and when to move. It will spray you 2-4 times depending on where you go. A tip I use is to point my face in the direction of the nozzle every time, no matter how my body is positioned, but you don't have to do this. It takes like 2 minutes. You have to put on a lotion on your hands and feet so they don't tan.

You take your clothes off in a little room, and the room has the booth in it. You also pick your color level you want, and they sometimes scent it.

I would shower right before, and not shower until the next day.
Yeah I agree with the first answer. But I must warn you they are not all private booths. I went to one and I had to strip naked in front of a women. She then produce the spray gun and sprayed and yes she was rather smug cause I was naked and she wasn`t. If you do choose to go to one like that make sure you get someone who is the same gender unlike me you wouldn`t want that humilation.

Is spray tanning safer than normal tanning?

Hi! I just got one yesterday...the tan doesn't show up for awhile.. I got it at about 9pm last night and noticed it this morning.. I was searching on here for ways to take away orange spots lol and found your question. It made me really tan. I only got orange spoits on my hands and heels of my feet. Fast tan using lotion/ spray?

I have some Jhergens gradual tanning lotion. Is it okay if I do like 3 coats? Will it be orange? Will it have the same effect of doing it for 3 days?Fast tan using lotion/ spray?
dont be fake. thats it. tell her to lay out in the sunFast tan using lotion/ spray?
My friend tried doing that and she looked really fake. It was extremely streaky and orange. If you want to a tanning lotion that works in one day, try getting a lotion that is not a gradual tanner. Those can also be really streaky though. From my experience, gradual tanner looks the most natural and lasts longer than instant tanners.
i will not have the same effect it will look really unatrual and orange

Can guys use spray on tans too?

If so is it effiecient? Does it make you orangey? I was wondering because I dont want to go under a bed or anything.Have you ever gone spray tanning?
I use the airbrush tan ever summer I burn instead of tan, mine is not orange but I stay on the lighter side of tan, I personally can't tell any difference.Have you ever gone spray tanning?
No you do not turn orange.

It gives you a nice color, it usually takes about 6 hours for it to show up after you have had it applied. Do not take a shower or do anything to make you sweat in that time.

A good option is loreal sublime bronzer in the brown bottle, if you want to apply yourself this self tanner also gives a nice brown color not orange w/no streaking.
Go with the Mystic Tan. It is the very best that I have ever tried. I tried another spray booth and it did make me very uneven and so blotchy. So go with the best one.
I personally did not care for it, it takes alot more patience than I have with turning and making sure your not blotchy. I did look orange and totally uneven color. Maybe I had a bad experience. I might try again later this spring. Also, I like the fact it's harmless to your skin.
Thats the only thing that will work other than going to a bed. I have had a very good experience and my 4 sisters do it regularly, It is very even and doesnt make an orange appearance. Make sure you dont go to some off the wall spray tanning place though, Make sure it is a ';Mystic Tan'; make sure to scrub in the shower before you go.
Mystic Tanning is pretty good. Watch out for the bottom of your feet! Going too much is what gets your orange-y.

How Long Do Spray Tans Last?

and how much do they cost? How Long Do Spray Tans Last?
Well it depends on the different formulas/brands they use. Also whether or not the tan specialist does it for you or you go into the booth. Usually they last 5-7 days and cost around $25-35. Those are the stats of the last one i got, the tan specialist sprayed it on me, I did not go into a booth. The booth spray tans tend to miss areas however, I do believe they are slightly cheaper. Also don't forget to listen carefully to the instructions they will give you, you'll need to wait to take a shower, and not rub your skin or use and scrubs, amongst other things.

p.s. the guy above me is TOTALLY and completely wrong!

=]How Long Do Spray Tans Last?
Upwards of $50.00 and they last until your next shower or bath.
Depends on the product and how often you shower, shave, exfoliate, etc..., but generally not more than a few days. It's more economical to use a self tanner, and I would recommend any of the Neutrogena products, but Build-A-Tan is great because it looks natural, is very moisturizing, smells good, and only adds a hint of color with every application, so you can control how light or dark it is.
the first guy is very wrong

if you go get one done at a tanning place

they can be from twenty to fifty dollers and the more expensive the longer they last

if you don't want to do all that

you can buy a spray gun and the spray for about twelve dollers from walmart

works very well and last from a week and a half to two weeks

oh but don't shower or bathe for atleast two to three hours after you get one done
I pay for a package deal and its like $60 and that is for 6 spray on or mystic tans. I LOVE IT!! If you do it excactly how they say to do it at the salon (using the cream on your hands an feet to avoid streaking) it turns out beautifuly. Mine lasts anywhere from 7-10 days, depending on how many times I shower. Also, Chlorinated water or pools will cause the mystic to run off, so be careful if you plan on doing it for a cruise. I learned that the hard way. It's so much better for you then convensional tanning. Good Luck! :)

if ur trying to get tan i would use the one with no SPF. thats what i use. the people at the salon will tell you not to use other stuff because it ';ruins their equptment';. but really i think its just a scam so you will buy their $60+ tanning lotions. such a rip off. just dont let them see you using it. and yes it will work the same as if you were lying in the sun. all it is after all is UV rays.

it depends on the brand cheapo brands not so much more expensive mostly not always true so meet somewhere in the middle it should be decent. u no there are creams and patches to lighten scars
I would think it depends on the degree of scarring. Light scarring yes, deep pock marked scarring, probably not.
On the contrary...I have a huge scar from my appendix being removed, along with a large scar on my knee from when I was a child and although I frown upon bed tanning these days, this has ALWAYS hid any type of scar by tanning it to match my skin. This goes for stretch marks, scars, and the whole bit. Honestly, I use a spray tanner rather than makeup base on my face and neck everyday and I can guarantee it won't hide it, but just as you said...make it appear something is over it. At least with a bed tanner, you won't have a pinky-whitish scar, but instead it will blend better with whatever you skin tone may be. Nobody ever looked at me twice in a bikini....for the scars anyway :)
I don't know if self tanners will hide scars. However, if you want to get a scar to fade, you might try a cocoa butter product made for scars and marks. I scar very easily and had a really ugly surgical scar on my arm. The physical therapist suggest that I use Palmer's cocoa butter for scars and marks to keep the scar moisturized so that it would not pucker. Even though the scar is still noticeable, it looks much better than it did (and much better than some of my old scars that were never treated).
unfortunately no,, they will enhance them
hey try the beds if you have any around you there cheaper then after it starts blending in use a lil bit of cover up and you should be fine

I want to get a spray tan in new york, but i am a minor. I was looking at the state laws for tanning in general and you have to have parental consent to ';use facilities.'; Does this also include the spray tanning?Minor spray tanning without parent?
No, that only applies to sun beds. This is because sunbeds are a known carcinogen, and since you are not a legal adult, you'd have to have one sign for you saying that they are aware of this. Spray tans are safe, therefore anyone of any age can come in and get one, granted they have the money :)Minor spray tanning without parent?

Is it safe to go in a tanning bed with hair spray in your hair?

Every time I go tanning I don't have anything in my hair. Now for the past week or so I go to the gym and I wear hair spray in my hair but don't know if its ok to go into the tannin bed with it in.Is it safe to go in a tanning bed with hair spray in your hair?
yeh its totally fine, wont make a difference, i do it all the time!!Is it safe to go in a tanning bed with hair spray in your hair?
Well, first of all, tanning beds aren't safe anyways, so it's not safe to start with. Why do you care about if you will ruin your hair, and not worry about getting skin cancer? Anyways, I'm not really sure. The chemicals in the hair spray mixed with all the harmful rays could fry your hair, so I would just say to not wear anything in your hair if you are truly set on going into a tanning bed, just for your hair sake. Plus, I know this isn't the question, but if you want to get a safe tan, just go with a tanning momoisturizer like Jergins or a spray tan. They work really well and just as good as tanning beds, but I highly dought that you can get skin cancer from them.
I wouldn't recommend going to the tanning bed at all. :(

Your skin is probably beautiful the way it is.

What do you know about spray tanning ?

I'm thinking of getting one .. any advice ?What do you know about spray tanning ?
Spray tans are much more healthier than the UV rays in a tanning bed, however I had two friends that always got them done and their kinda fake looking. If you get wet your also screwed as it will look horrible and smeary. It's also kind of expensive and doesn't last that long. I think being outside in the sun and getting natural sun rays is the best thing you can do to get a free more natural looking tan.

Tanning bed vs. spray mist for a tan?

i want a golden look that wont be too expensive to maintain and looks good.

    any ideas?

Tanning bed vs. spray mist for a tan?
It really depends on what you're going for. If you want a more unified longer lasting look I would go for tanning sessions at a local salon. Usually they get you to go twice a week, then after you reach your desired color once a week - to once every two weeks depending on how fast you lose your color. Spray on tans or rub on tans have a tendency to look orange and stain your nails and cuticles and anything else it comes in contact with.

Tanning bed vs. spray mist for a tan?
Neither. Both look pretty orangey to me. My friend recommended a great sunless tanning lotion, Neutrogena Sun Fresh, and I absolutely love it. I use the lotion but I've never tried the mist or the foam so I can't vouch for them.

If you go this route, make sure you get the right color for your skin tone. My friend is very fair-skinned and once bought 'medium/deep skin tones' by accident. It was the only time it turned out orange.

Also, don't overdo it. You'll get streaks if you try to put too much on at once. You'll get a very natural-looking tan if you follow the directions.
I used to get spray tans but they are $25 for one which lasts only about five days and afterwards I would have splotches of the tan left over on me so it looked weird. I now use tanning beds and I like them a lot better. Once you get a base tan you only have to go every once and a while to keep it up. I only pay $20 a month for the tanning bed and I can go everyday if I wanted to and it would still be $20 which is a really good deal.
tanning bed=bad.. your 75% more likely to get skin cancer if you use a tanning bed ONCE before the age of 35.. plus its just terrible for your skin in general.... spray would be better or find some self tanner lotions at target they work great =]
I'd go for spray tan just because regular tanning adds 17yrs to your skin age, %26amp; will cost you alot more in the future on skin products orface lift etc. Just something to think about!
i went through the orange phase too

but then i learned to embrace my skin

i get hit on now more than when i was tan

because now i don't look like a dirty guidette

Can spray tanning stain your nails?

Yes it can. If you're doing mystic tan or something like that, be sure to use the barrier cream they provide on your fingernails, toenails, and any other places you don't want tan. Then just wipe it off after you're done tanning.

If you're doing this at home, put some vaseline or something similar on your nails, so that the tanning stuff won't get directly on your nail. If it gets under your nails, try using some nail polish on a Q-tip to remove it as soon as you are finished with the tanning stuff, to prevent staining. Can spray tanning stain your nails?
    yes

unless they are acrilic with gell then it will just wipe off

but i just used acetone on my nails and the stain came offCan spray tanning stain your nails?
I believe it can, since it's virtually a pigment that you apply to your skin.

I am very very fair, and would like to get a spray tan before going to the Bahamas. I am afraid of turning out orange. For those of you who have gotten spray tans, how have they turned out? Thank you!!!Fair people who have gotten spray tans, HELP?
I am fair too and i got a spray tan at a tanning salon and i really liked how it turned out. but make sure you get only a shade darker than your natural skintone otherwise it wont look natural. make sure you shave and exfoliate before you go too that way you wont have to shave off the color. itll last longer :)Fair people who have gotten spray tans, HELP?

it all depends on where you go, really.

you have to make sure it's all even so you aren't blotchy.

Do spray on Tans really work?

I am getting Married in 2 months. does the spray on tans really work. do they go on even. is there anything i should know before i do this?Do spray on Tans really work?
they work for short periodDo spray on Tans really work?
Everybody gave good answers. I have something to add. You might want to get it done before you get married just to see if you like it. Then if it does streak or get messed up you will know not to do it. Good Luck !!!
I agree with what 'Just Me' said. Get it done a while before your wedding to check it out. You'll be able to tell if that's what you really want and also tell if you want to go lighter or darker. When I had mine done, it worked very well, no streaks or anything, but I wish it was darker.
Spray on tans usually do give you a darker skin tone. However, they are not permanent. Some go on even, and others do not.

Be sure you read all of the warnings and instructions (if you're doing it yourself) or get all of the information (if you're having it professionally done).

Definately try one out now, don't wait till the week before your wedding. I know people who have given themselves Orange skin from DIY spray tans and lots of people who have gotten ';streaky'; color.
If it's an automated system, then I think they're pretty accurate. My friend went to a tanning salon once, and the technicians sprayed the tan on her, and it was a streaky mess! Just be careful where you go, and if you're not satisfied, complain...Also, leave enough time between your first visit and your wedding so that if you don't like the results, they will fade by the time your big day comes.
Yes, they do work, but if you have never done it before. ask someone who has. The trick is getting it one evenly. If you don't, you could look streaky or blotchy. Try in an inconspicuous place and see how you do.
They work - but only for a week!
yeah! I loved mine. Lasted a good couple of weeks for me.

For one thing, it important that you have it done by a professional person, not a machine or a bottle. Know what you want to be wearing/in... i.e. in the nude, or what underwear to wear. Dont worry about the staining because the stuff will wash out in the laundry. I would also wear shorts and such, because you're seriously going to have to let it dry for about 8 hours, just so the color can set, if that makes sense. Plus it smells really nice :)

About it washing off, though: my tanner (i guess thats what you call them) said that it will wash off depending on how often you shower, and how much you exfoliate, etc. Typically the face will fade first, because you wash it more.

Also, and this is important: get it done at least 2 days before when you need to. That way you have the day for the color to dry, and a day to let any excess come off (yeah, you'll be a bit flaky for a while). If you're really worried about how it looks, get it done now-ish and see how you like it. If you don't, just rub it all off in the shower.
I had a friend try it and it looked ';off'; to me.

    It looked blotchy and uneaven.

    dfc
Yes they really do work. Before you go get one you should (just a word of advice) take a shower, and exfoliate your skin as best as you can. That way when the tan gets sprayed on it will be more even and look much better.
I used to do this for a living....It is better to have a person spray it on, verses a machine..It will be more even and not splotchy...

Check to see what percentage of DHA is in their solution..(this is the stuff that makes you tan) If you are very fair, 8% is good...average 10%, and already really dark 12%

You want to exfoliate really well before hand, remove all the dead skin cells.... Only put a very small amount of lotion on dry areas..If an area is very dry, it will totally soak up the solution, making it a lot darker...(knuckles, heels, elbows)

If you are going off to a honeymoon right after, be prepared for fading... salt water, chlorine, sand will wear it right off...

Do not wash your hands right after the spray...wait a few hours, or they will be lighter than the rest...

After your first shower (do not take baths...the soaking will wear it off) make sure that you use a VERY good lotion w/ out an exfoliaters in it...

No makeup or lotions should be on your skin when you are being sprayed (w/ the exception of the very dry areas)

Make an appt. to have it done....then you can see how long it lasts and if you like it or not...

Some have a weird smell to them...others are odor free...

I would suggest having it done on a Thursday night if your wedding is on a Saturday, but definitely try it out well before the wedding!!!

    Good luck!!
yeah i heard they do, just go into a salon and ask the ladies they are usually really nice, its much safer than the uv light lasts a while and just a new experience!!

    try it
