i was really thinking about going to a tanning salon %26amp; getting a good tan but i am SO scared about skin cancer %26amp; that final destination movie when the girls got trapped in the tanning beds.
anyway, i was thinking on getting a quick spray on tan right before i go on vacation.
1. What's a GOOD spray on tan product?
2. How long does the spray tan last for/how often will I need to apply it in a day?
3. Does the ocean/pool/shower wash it off when it drys?
4. Will I look different from the girls with the natural tans or the tans from the tanning salon.
5. And will I look orange?Spray on tan?
The best, most real looking spray tan I have ever used is the jet tan system.. get info at www.jettan.com...buy it at their site or www.hsn.com or ebay is the cheapest.
This gave me the most realistic bronze color so evenly and easily.
Second option is Loreal Sublime Bronze from Target,Walmart,CVS,etc.
Some products do still give an orangish color, but the ones listed above were realistic looking and a nice shade of brown.
To answer the rest of your questions now...
2) spray tan lasts for 3-5 days. You only need to apply it once, but if you want to be even darker, apply again the next day. Once you have acheived the color you want, you can apply every 2-3 days to maintain your color.
3)Once you have acheived your color and it has set(usually in 4-6 hours) you can swim, but the chlorine might lighten it a little, but it will not wash it off. If it does lighten it, just reapply daily or every other day to maintain your color for longer.
4 and 5) The products I suggested above look as real as a tan from the tanning salon or sun and do not look orangeSpray on tan?
I am very fair but i havent had a professional spray tan, i tend to use a mousse tan like St Tropez when i can be bothered. Also the moisturiser tans like Dove holiday glow or whatever they are are good too because your skin gets good moisture and also you can controll how dark you go and reapply when necessary. Perhaps taking something with you just in case the spray tan does fade would be a good idea. But the main thing is NEVER EVER EVER USE A TANNING BED!!!!!! EVER!!!!!
hun you could turn orange %26amp;%26amp; it doesn't make you TAN it makes you a darker peach; which in my opinion isn't that hott.
so does a tanning bed.. soo here's whatcha do to get really tan..
LAY OUT IN THE SUN. (: if you have a pool err something go in that for a long time you will get the biggest tan or go to the beach and lay out and if you have sensitive skin then i suggest laying out in the sun for like 15 minutes a day on each side.
%26amp; if you burn from the sun then i would get a spray tan. the worst that could happen was you turning orange. (:
geez... don't put on spray on tan! there's this one guy who works at my old middle school who had a spray on tan......... HE WAS AS ORANGE AS AN ORANGE. people will make fun of u and its probly not healthy
Mystic Tan:
http://www.mystictan.com/spraymystic/
all spray tans turn you orange just sit out in the sun w/ sum sunn screen
do NOT use spray on, you will always turn orange
1. Either get a professional mystic tan (they don't turn you orange), or get neutorgena brand micro mist spray on tan. Banana boat has a good self tanning lotion if you prefer that method. Pick the one for your skin shade (if you have fair skin, get that one, etc.). The reason you turn orange is because you're using the wrong shade. Gradual tanning lotions like Dove Energy Glow are good too. You can control the shade you want. However, it takes about a week to get a good tan with gradual tanners.
2. A mystic spray tan lasts about a week. Other store products last a little less like 5 days. It's best to reapply a gradual tanning lotion every day. If it's not gradual, then every couple of days is fine.
3. Chlorine in a pool as well as long periods of time in the ocean/shower will fade your tan. Depends on how long you stay in. Chlorine in a pool is the worst. Showers don't affect it too badly, but any water will make it fade.
4. Nah, if applied correctly, you'll just look like you have a healthy tan, minus the skin cancer risk. :) If you're doing it yourself, get a self tanner with bronzer in it so that you can see where you're applying it. This will help it to not be streaky.
5. Not if you pick the shade that's right for your skin. It's better to do two applications with a tanner made for fair skin than it is to use one made for dark skin. Worst case scenario, if you're orangey, then exfoliate in the shower. That will fade your tan dramatically and you won't look orange anymore.
You are wise to be wary of laying out in the sun. That tan may look good for a few weeks, but years from now, you'll regret it... and that's the best case scenario! Worst case - skin cancer and death.
I recently tried a spray tan for the first time in my life and I paid money to have a professional from a salon do it. She actually came to my house with a little tent and a sprayer, and did it right in my living room! I can't tell you how pleased I was with it.
I have seen so many bad fake orange tans that I too was worried about turning orange. Hence, my decision to go the professional route! I did not look AT ALL orange. It was as natural looking as the tans I used to get laying by the pool, back in high school. It was a sugar-based solution, so there is no risk of a skin-reaction for those with sensitive skin.
After the initial spray, I could not shower for 6 hours. It felt a little sticky at first, but not any worse than how it feels to put on suntan oil. When you do finally shower, a little brown runs off, but that is just the initial bronzer - no ';tan'; was washing off. If it gets on your clothes or sheets within those first 6 hours, it washes right out. I actually didn't get any on mine. I was sprayed with ';one coat,'; and it lasted several days. It faded gradually and naturally, and I plan on doing it again. Next time... maybe two coats! :)
Again, I hired a professional from a salon to come to my house and do this. I believe ';mystic tan'; is a similar product, if not the exact same. It's just a brand name, so it's hard to tell. You should go to a reputable salon and ask them about it. Please don't harm your body by laying in a tanning bed, or in the sun. There is NO NEED!!
