Do those spray on tans really work?

What about your face and hair? I also wonderd about under your arms and your feet? The concept seems cool - but I am afraid to try it and have it look strange...has anyone done the spray on tan before - not the kind you do at home.....I live in CA - but can't really tan naturally....

thanks!Do those spray on tans really work?
I've done it and I am PALE white. It's worth it if you have the time and money. You wont look orange don't listen to other people that say that. If you decide to go in and have it done, add some extra lotion to your knees, ears, ankles, hands and elbows. The skin is extra thin in those places and it can cause a streaky orangish color. When you go in, ask all of those questions you have. I really love getting it done. I'm going to Hawaii in 2 weeks and I plan on getting done the day before I leave.

don't bother with it honestly...i have a few friends who have tried it both from a spray, and professionally done, and they ended up orange for a long time, even though they were told it wouldnt...looks good for a while till that stage, then it looks funny :P
It would be a good idea to have a little bit of a base tan before you use the self tanners. Incase of of any streaks or spots, it will be a lot less noticable. They do have plenty of self tanners now that don't make you orange. That was when they first came out.
I heard that most make you look orange. I guess you should just apply very little
Spray-on tans are tough to work with and it takes alot of effort to make sure you don't wind up with a line all along the arm or leg where you didn't get the lotion very evenly distributed. If you use it on your face, you have to make certain that it is evenly distributed everywhere i.e. right to the hair line, under the eyes right up to the edge of the eyelashes but keep out of eyes of course. Basically, you have to make sure that you cover ';ALL'; skin you want tan looking with the lotion. I have tried several kinds. Some were a bit better than others but overall, I stopped using them because of the effort needed to keep from having ';darker lines'; in some places. In conclusion, they are more trouble than they are worth because their colour isn't the same ';true'; tone as a real tan and if you make a mistake or two, it shows a line and then you're stuck with it till it wears off. Most of these lotions also leave tan marks on anything white, worn all day i.e. around the collar of a tee shirt, white dress shirt, etc.
They do make you orange, but when you get slightly red from the sun, the spray on tanner or bronzer mixed with your red skin color makes you look darker. Red %26amp; orange makes brown. Remember first grade mixing paint? See!
Test it on a small area first, but yeah, they work.
Yes they do work, ask for referalls though, as some places leave you streaky/blotchy. A reputable place will be careful and you will have a beautiful even glow, everywhere you want it!
Someone at work got one of those, It was hilarious, the tan was really splotchy and it ran in streaks, and it made her look way more orange than tan. She had to wear pants and a turtle neck for three weeks or so. I guess what I'm getting at is that they don't work, but they sure are funny.
no they look icky and orange
they make you look orange
If you mean the ones at salons where you get sprayed in a booth, then yes i love it you stand a certain ways and get several passes. I haven't tried the airbrused kind but i even like some of the spays you can do at home
The sprays really do tend to leave you unnatrually orange. I have a very pale complexion and the best product I have found is Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Body Glow lotion. It comes in 3 shades depending on your natrual coloring, and it's very inexpensive (around $5 a bottle). It will give you a healthy summerish glow in about 3 days, with no streaks or orange tint, and it makes your skin super soft and silky.
The spray on tans make you look orange.
If you can go to a professional spray tan...you get an even less streaky result if the tan is applied with a hand held spray gun...far better than the spray tan booths.
