How do spray tans work?

I am probably getting a spray tan in 4 days.


%26amp; i was just wondering like what happens when you go inside.


like do they make you go in a machine or booth and how long do you have to wait to shower after you get it done.





and what do the make you do when you get it done?

You should exfoliate well the day before your tan in order to remove any dead skin cells (this will help prolong your tan). If you shave or wax, this should also be done before the day of your tan. Do not wear deodorants or make up or any other preparation on your skin on tanning day as these can act as a barrier to the tanning solution.# ear loose dark clothing and do not shower for at least 8 hours as this can remove some of the tan before it has had a chance to develop.


The first night, it is best to wear pyjamas or baggy loose clothing in order to prevent disturbing your developing tan and to protect your sheets (do not sleep in silk sheets as these WILL stain)


When you do first shower, you may notice some brown staining in the water. Do not panic! This is just the marker dye washing off, revealing your tanned skin underneath.


Avoid soaking in the bath as this encourages the sloughing of dead skin cells and will hasten the fading of your tan


Avoid swimming pools as chlorine will hasten the tan fading


Moisturise every day (preferably twice) in order to keep your skin and tan in tip top condition

You go into a booth that looks like a shower. Usually, a machine voice tells you where to stand, and when to move. It will spray you 2-4 times depending on where you go. A tip I use is to point my face in the direction of the nozzle every time, no matter how my body is positioned, but you don't have to do this. It takes like 2 minutes. You have to put on a lotion on your hands and feet so they don't tan.





You take your clothes off in a little room, and the room has the booth in it. You also pick your color level you want, and they sometimes scent it.





I would shower right before, and not shower until the next day.
Yeah I agree with the first answer. But I must warn you they are not all private booths. I went to one and I had to strip naked in front of a women. She then produce the spray gun and sprayed and yes she was rather smug cause I was naked and she wasn`t. If you do choose to go to one like that make sure you get someone who is the same gender unlike me you wouldn`t want that humilation.
